Maintenance Recommendations

Objective: To enhance the longevity and performance of 3D printers by providing users with timely maintenance recommendations after a specified amount of printer usage. The system will notify users when routine maintenance tasks are required based on operational data, ensuring consistent quality and reducing the risk of downtime. User Stories: As a user, I want to receive maintenance recommendations based on the number of hours or cycles my 3D printer has been in operation, so I can ensure optimal performance. As a technician, I want to be notified when specific parts of the 3D printer (e.g., extruder, print bed, or nozzles) need attention, so I can proactively perform maintenance and reduce unplanned downtime. As a facility manager, I want a log of maintenance alerts and completed tasks, so I can track the upkeep of all 3D printers in my facility. Functional Requirements: Usage Tracking: The software must track the total operational time of the 3D printer in hours or the number of printing cycles completed. Usage data must be stored and updated in real-time after each print job. Customizable Thresholds: Users must be able to configure maintenance thresholds for specific components based on their requirements. For example, a user could set a recommendation for extruder cleaning after 100 hours of printing or after 50 print cycles. Default thresholds will be provided based on the manufacturer's recommendations for key printer components (e.g., nozzles, belts, extruders). Notification System: The software must send notifications to the user interface when a component reaches its maintenance threshold. Notifications must include details on the specific component needing maintenance, recommended actions (e.g., clean the nozzle, lubricate the belts), and the estimated time for the task. Detailed Maintenance Instructions: For each type of maintenance recommendation, the software must provide detailed, step-by-step instructions or a link to the printer's manual. If applicable, video tutorials or 3D model visualizations can be included for guidance. Maintenance History Log: The software must maintain a history of all maintenance tasks, including the component serviced, the date of the recommendation, and the date the task was completed. Users must be able to access and export this log for reporting and compliance purposes.
